Nicolai Kielstrup is only 18 yet his CV is already very long. In the few years that have passed since winning the Danish Junior European Song Contest in 2005, a lot has happened. Nicolai has gone from one success to another. Among other things, he has released 3 albums and given countless concerts with his talented troupe of dancers and musicians in and around Denmark.

Nico’s music and dance career started for real when he won the Danish European Song Contest, but dance training started much earlier. Already when Nico was 4 he showed great interest in dance - hip hop, street, breakdance and funk. When Nico was 10 he was accepted for the Legoland Show Academy where he developed his dance and drama for 2 years. Here the young charmer also started singing and developing his voice.

After his graduation from Legoland Show Academy Nico was ready for much more. He decided to take the chance and wrote a song for the Junior ESC. His song was accepted, one of 10 out of thousands, and with 3 female backup dancers he appeared in the TV show with the song "Shake, Shake, Shake". He won the competition and his career was set in express motion from that evening.

At that time, no one could foretell that this talented performer already at the age of 17 would have released his third album. But when Nico sets a goal for himself, he goes all in and it is obvious that he is very ambitious about his music and dance.

"I am probably the one who has the biggest expectations to myself. I am a perfectionist with my music and my performance - I always try to find ways of improving and give the best performance as possible. If I'm not quite satisfied I scratch everything and start over until I am satisfied," says the determined Nico.

Music and dance is a large part of Nico's life. Because he started at such a young age, Nicolai is developing with his music - just as the music develops with him:

"I feel myself develop from album to album. I feel for instance that my messages have become more serious on my latest album. One of the songs is about death - losing someone you care for - and I was definitely too young to make that song 3 years ago. But all the songs don't have serious messages,” says the young artist with a glint in his eye and continues:

"I feel that the music is a great tool for finding myself and develop into an adult. The music develops with me and I develop through the music - it's mutual.”

With weekly dance lessons in Copenhagen, voice training, studio work and performance rehearsals at the weekend, this 18-year old heartthrob has his plate full, considering also that he is currently studying at Business College in his hometown.
